Collaborative Counseling is owned by Susan Hardison, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). Susan is a Greensboro, NC native with over 25 years of experience in the field of addiction treatment. As a person in long-term recovery, she is passionate about helping others to achieve a new life beyond addiction. She firmly believes that recovery is possible.

Susan considers it an honor to witness the courage and resilience of the people she has worked with over the years. Susan obtained her CSAC from the NCSAPPB and her Associates Degree from GTCC. She is currently finishing her Bachelor of Social Work at UNC Greensboro with plans of pursuing her Master of Social Work degree. Susan brings a wealth of knowledge in addictions counseling from her past employment in outpatient, hospital, court, in-home, and inpatient settings. She has practiced substance abuse counseling as the county liaison to the state hospital, and has served as the representative for involuntarily committed substance users in Guilford County.
Susan has expertise with crisis intervention, harm reduction, counseling education, and mental health, as well as alcohol and other substance use counseling and treatment. She is also certified as a Criminal Justice Specialist and holds a Master Addiction Counseling endorsement through the National Association of Forensic Counselors.
